Hero Arts + A Blog Named Hero Holiday Blog Hop

I created a Holiday card that has more of the traditional or perhaps vintage feel, which is completely out of my usual style. Somehow the Peace Poinsettia stamp set made me do this :)

I used my Distress markers and played around with the solid and outline stamp of the poinsettia to make my focal point and I also added a few stars on a string from Sparkle borders stamp set. That is such a versatile stamp set. Love it! 

I fist white embossed the sentiment Season's greetings on a piece of Tim Holtz watercolour cardstock then I masked off the border to keep it white as possible. After that I played with water, Distress markers and my paintbrush. It was super fun. 

I don't know about you, but I can't stop myself from using some kind of glitter on my cards, especially if they are Holiday themed. That being said I had to make stars sparkle and the centre of my poinsettia stand out a bit. Red royal shading on my card base, foam tape on the back of my watercoloured panel and here we are.

And what fun would a blog hop be if there was no prizes along the way? So here it is...

Friday Fun # 16

Hello everyone!

Lepo pozdravljeni! 

I'm combining my Friday Fun with teh Watercolor Blog Hop hosted by Paulina over at Pretty Pink Posh. I made a birthday card with Hero Arts stamp that I coloured in with my Inktense pencils and a brush and I put in on a panel that I coloured with Distress inks. I just pressed them on my craft sheet, added some water and pressed the watercolour paper down. I also added some Perfect Pearls Mist for a bit of sparkle. 

Danes bom združila Friday Fun in poskakovanje po blogih, ki ga je pripravila Paulina na temo akvarelov na blogu Pretty Pink Posh. Naredila sem rojstnodnevno voščilnico, na kateri sem štampiljko Hero Arts pobarvala z Inktense barvicami in vodo, vse skupaj pa sem prilepila na akvarelni papir, ki sem ga pobarvala z Distress blazinicami. Blazinice sem pritisnila na podlago, jih posprejala z vodo in dodala nekaj Perfect Pearls Mist-a za svetlikajoč učinek.

Creative Blog Hop

I was nominated for Creative Blog Hop by Jessica (All the sparkle), my team mate at A Blog Named Hero Design team. I have to nominate two others and Michelle (Handmade by Michelle) and Linda (Linda Trace designs) agreed to share their answers next week.

1. What are you working on now? 

Last week was a very busy and stressful week and I'm playing catch up this week (that is slightly less busy, but still all over the place). I have not prepared cards for this week's posts and the weather is super gloomy so it's even harder for me to work on something creative. So there are my regular posts and I have some responsibilities for A Blog Named Hero coming up. Can't share any sneak peeks unless you want to see my messy desk :/ 

2. How does your work differ from others in your genre? 

I have no idea :) I go for cute or elegant designs and I love bright colours. I don't really think I have a distinct style jet, but you are free to correct me :) 

3. Why do you create what you do? 

I'm a very creative person, but I lost that during my college years because of all my responsibilities. When I discovered YouTube and card makers over there... it was like heaven opened to me. I love it. I don't love how time flies when I make cards, but I love the end product. And to make someone happy by sending then one of my hand made cards... priceless :) 

4. How does your creative process work? 

I usually decide on type of my card that I need (birthday, thank you...), than person (if there is a specific person that I'm making my card for) and I find a stamp that works for me at that moment. Then I choose colour medium and colour scheme and go from there. If I'm not happy with it I play around with different embellishements until I'm happy :) Some cards just fall together and go exactly like I imagined, some need a bit more time. It's a different process everytime.

Današnja druga objava je del poskakovanja po blogih s štirimi glavnimi vprašanji: 

1. S čim se trenutno ukvarjaš? 

Prejšnji teden je bil malce hektičen, tako da se moram najprej malo dohitet, saj nimam pripravljenih še nobenih stvari za objave v tem tednu, prav tako pa mi vreme trenutno prav nič ne pomaga, saj tudi normalnih fotografij ne morem narediti. Na žalost ne morem delit nobenih drobcev umetnin v nastajanju, razen če želite videti mojo razmetano mizo :/ 

2. Kako se tvoje delo razlikuje od ostalih? 

Pravzaprav ne vem čisto točno. Običajno se nagibam k simpatičnemu ali elegantnemu izgledu, prav tako pa imam zelo rada svetle in živahne barve. Nisem čisto prepričana v katero kategorijo bi moje stvari lahko sodile. 

3. Zakaj delaš to, kar delaš? 

Zato, ker sem želela ponovno obuditi kreativno osebo, ki se je v letih na faksu kar malce potisnila na stran. Preprosto mi je všeč od trenutka, ko sem svet voščilnic (ponovno) odkrila, po drugi strani pa je zelo dober občutek, ko nekdo prejme tvojo, ročno izdelano voščilnico ob prav posebni priložnosti. 

4. Kako deluje tvoj kreativni proces? 

Običajno imam izbrano temo za voščilnico in glede na osebo, ki bo voščilnico prejela (če sem v takšni situaciji), izberem glavno podobo in nato barvni medij, barvno shemo in tako naprej. Če mi nekaj ne deluje povsem v redu, se malce igram z različnimi dodatki, dokler nisem zadovoljna. Nekatere voščilnice mi kar "padejo" skupaj, včasih pa potrebujem dlje časa in več poskusov, da sem zadovoljna. Zelo različno.
